Night Shift Kennel Technician – Barkz & Rec (South San Francisco)
Pay: $20–$22/hour, depending on experience, plus tips
Shift: 10 PM – 6 AM | Full-time or part-time | All days of the week available

About Us:
Barkz & Rec is a boarding, daycare, training, and grooming facility in South San Francisco. Our overnight team is what lets owners sleep easy while their dogs stay with us. We’re looking for a dependable, calm night owl to keep our boarding dogs safe, comfortable, and happy overnight.

What You’ll Do:
- Take dogs out one at a time for overnight potty breaks.
- Supervise our “slumber party” boarding dogs in group play and rest areas.
- Read dog body language and step in early to prevent conflicts.
- Keep kennels and play areas clean, safe, and ready for the morning crew.
- Note any health or behavior concerns for the day team.

- Mostly solo. You’ll usually be the only person on site, with a second teammate on busy nights. You need to be comfortable making decisions on your own.
- Physical and outdoors. Expect to be on your feet, lifting, cleaning, and working outside in heat, cold, and rain.
- Busy and loud. Group dogs can be noisy and unpredictable. Staying calm under pressure matters more than anything.
You’ll Be a Great Fit If You:
- Are reliable and show up on time, every shift.
- Have experience handling dogs of different sizes and temperaments (professional experience is a plus but not required).
- Stay calm and solve problems on your own.
- Pay attention to the small details, like a dog not eating, a latch not closing, or a dog acting off.
- Enjoy getting to know each dog and building trust with them.
- Are comfortable working overnight and doing physical work.
